Our doors have opened to nearly 50,000 visitors, to join us in our journey to create a magical space where play ignites imagination and fosters learning, for children from all backgrounds and abilities in Eastern Long Island.

We are a Museum for All, providing free admission to more than 1,000 guests who receive food assistance (SNAP benefits). CMEE also offers free class trips for schools that lack funding for field trips.

We bring play directly to communities that need it the most by hosting Family Fun Nights at our satellite location in Flanders/Riverside. CMEE Educators bring educational play opportunities to the Wunneechanunk Shinnecock Preschool and partner with social service agencies like the Retreat to serve the East End's most vulnerable families.

We provide weekly literacy, science, and math tutoring to over 50 kids at our Monday Night Academy. Once the Museum's doors close for the day, they reopen to welcome families for an evening of family learning — focusing on improving literacy and STEM outcomes for school children.

Founded in 2020, CMEE serves over 5,500 people through the food pantry each year. CMEE knows that children can't play, learn and thrive if they are hungry.

Now celebrating our 14th year hosting Head Start, CMEE is the only Children's Museum in the country to host a Head Start Center. Head Start is the oldest and largest federal early education program of its kind. And its all free.

From our Baby Gear Swap, to Big Truck Day, to our annual Block Party, we welcome everyone to the biggest free family events on the East End.
